Our Story

Authentic pastéis de nata and Portuguese coffee

Praça began with something simple: the morning bica taken standing at the counter, the smell of cinnamon, and a conversation that starts with a stranger and ends with a neighbour. We brought our family recipes from Leiria to Northampton town centre and changed very little — the pastry is folded by hand before dawn, the coffee is roasted in Portugal, and the pastéis de nata leave the oven still warm.

We are a small Portuguese coffee shop in Northampton with room for everyone: people on their way to work, visitors spending a day in the East Midlands, and anyone who, like us, was quietly looking for home in a glass of galão.
